Leicestershire’s Beautiful Pubs Collective has reported impressive growth in the second quarter of 2025, alongside major investment plans designed to strengthen its portfolio for the years ahead.
Growth in Sales
The group recorded a 36% rise in growth for Q2, driven by both organic performance and the addition of new venues. Like-for-like sales increased by more than 9%, up from 5% in the previous quarter. Much of the uplift came from the successful acquisition of The Old Horse in Leicester, which joined the portfolio in late 2024.
Recent Investments
The Beautiful Pubs Collective has continued to invest heavily in its estate:
- The Rutland & Derby Arms recently underwent a £300,000 refurbishment, delivering strong early results.
- The Knight & Garter, one of Leicester’s best-known gastropubs, has also benefitted from an extensive refresh.
- Looking ahead, a £1.1 million investment is already planned for The Old Horse in 2026, ensuring it remains a flagship site for years to come.
People and Communities
Founder Sam Hagger highlighted that the success of the group isn’t just about profit figures. Each decision is measured against how it benefits pub teams and the local communities they serve. While rising costs and increased taxation continue to present challenges, Hagger emphasised that investment in people and places is what keeps the pubs thriving.

The Beautiful Pubs Collective shows how ambitious investment, local partnerships, and a commitment to community can deliver strong results even in a challenging climate.
